Statistics

What is actually happening?

At the moment more than one woman a week is dying from domestic violence related homicides.

While the statistics are grim, domestic violence is about more than numbers.

A complex problem

I could site more statistics and you can read the source material for those statistics above by clicking on the image, for instance in 2018 in NSW alone over 900 boys aged 0-9 years were assaulted, 587 of those were assaulted by a family member. The point is that Domestic and Family Violence is a large and complex problem. It isn’t just about deaths, it isn’t just about female victims, and while things like Domestic Violence Orders are important they are not properly protecting the victims.

As as experienced family law solicitor I see the outcome of this family violence every day of my professional life. I am keen to be involved in primary prevention of the problem, as well as helping people after the fact.

I offer these seminars for free because I am a local solicitors who want to make a difference in my community. I want to start a conversation with these young people, get them thinking about respect and challenging disrespectful behaviour that they see, behaviour they have perhaps accepted as normal in their lives. I want people to critically analyse behaviour of themselves and other people. Ican’t achieve this in an hour, but I can start a conversation.

There is no book deal or course that i will sell you on the back end, there is no catch. My contact details are at the bottom of the page, please contact me about speaking with your group.
